Announcement No. 2 of the Committee for the Commemoration of the Ascension of the Mujahid Martyr Imam Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei (ra)

In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

In light of the extensive arrangements being made for the grand and dignified farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremony of the Mujahid Martyr Imam Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Hosseini Khamenei (may God sanctify his pure soul) and the martyrs from the family of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, we hereby announce that the speculations and rumors circulated in domestic and foreign media regarding the timing and details of the aforementioned ceremonies—which have caused confusion among many of those wishing to attend this great event—are entirely without validity.

In accordance with the path and practice of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution (may his noble station be exalted) in commemorating the mourning ceremonies of the Master of Martyrs, Imam Hussain (pbuh), and in view of the importance of the mourning gatherings being held throughout Iran and across the world during these days, the farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremonies of Martyr Khamenei will be held after the first ten days of Muharram, following the final coordination of the responsible institutions and popular groups in order to provide fitting services to the mourning people.

The details of these ceremonies will be announced by this Committee at an appropriate time, God willing.
