First night of the Muharram mourning ceremonies held beside the Imam Khomeini (ra) Hussainiyah

The first night of the mourning ceremonies for the Master and Lord of the Martyrs, Imam Aba Abdillah al-Hussain (peace be upon him), was attended by thousands of people from different walks of life and held beside the Imam Khomeini (ra) Hussainiyah and the site of the heavenly ascension of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei (qs).

This year's ceremonies are being held on behalf of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

During the ceremony, Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Sayyid Mirhashem Hosseini delivered a speech entitled "the calculations and theology of life," emphasizing the importance of spiritual concepts and the consideration of God and His divine promises alongside material calculations in both individual and social life.

He stated:
"The Sacred Defense of the Iranian nation in the Third Imposed War, inspired by the lessons of the great event of Karbala, the self-sacrifice of Imam Hussain (pbuh) and his loyal companions, stands as a clear example of giving due attention to theology alongside material calculations and preparations."

The ceremony also featured elegies recited by Mahdi Rasouli in mourning for Imam Hussain (pbuh), the martyrs of Karbala, and the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution. He also commemorated the memory and names of the distinguished martyrs of the Third Imposed War.
