Armenian Translation of “Cell No. 14” an opportunity to better understand contemporary Iranian history
The Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs at Yerevan State University said the unveiling of the Armenian translation of the book “Cell No. 14: The Autobiography of Ayatollah Khamenei” provides an opportunity to better understand the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran over recent decades.
At the unveiling ceremony of the Armenian translation of the book at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Yerevan State University, Alina Aseryan described the ceremony as “a very important event” and said the publication of this work in Armenian could help audiences gain a deeper understanding of the personality of Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei and developments in Iran over recent decades.
Referring to the fact that the work was translated by one of the Iranology students at Yerevan State University, she said the event once again demonstrates the development of Oriental studies, particularly Iranian studies, at the university.
Aseryan said, “The development of Iranian studies itself builds a bridge, not only in the scientific, academic, and cultural fields, but also between the peoples of the two countries.”
She also described the unveiling of the Armenian translation of “Cell No. 14: The Autobiography of Ayatollah Khamenei” as a tribute to Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei.
The Deputy Rector for Academic Affairs at Yerevan State University expressed hope that the translation of more works from Persian into Armenian in the future would provide new opportunities for students and the people of Armenia to become more familiar with the history of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its literary works.
In conclusion, Aseryan stressed the importance of continuing such activities to expand cultural and academic understanding between Iran and Armenia.
