Martyr Imam Khamenei's selected statements on the New World Order

Today, the world is on the threshold of a new order. A new international order is in the future for the world, which is in contrast with the bipolar order that’s been in place for more than 20 years during which time the US, the former Soviet Union, and the Western and Eastern blocs have been in power. This new order is also in contrast with the unipolar order that Bush Senior announced over 30 years ago after the destruction of the Berlin Wall and the Marxist system and socialist governments. At that time, Bush Senior said that there was a new world order - a unipolar system with the US at the top. (April 26, 2022) Today, it’s becoming clearer every day that the political geometry of the world and the global landscape are changing. Today, it’s becoming increasingly evident that the political map of the world is changing. The notion of a unipolar world with one world power - or two powers, it doesn’t make a difference — harassing countries and nations, has lost its legitimacy. That is, nations have woken up. The unipolar system has become discredited, and it’s gradually becoming even more discredited. (October 14, 2022) One often hears these days that top ranking politicians say they don’t agree with a unipolar system. What’s the definition of a unipolar system? It means that, for example, the US devises some scheme for Iraq, Syria, Iran, Lebanon, or some other country where they say, “You need to do this. This needs to happen. This shouldn’t happen.” They may say it at times, or they may not say it. But they take action. (October 14, 2022) This state where Global Arrogance dominates other countries, nations, and areas is gradually changing, similar to the change that took place with the anti-colonial movements in the mid-20th century. One after another, countries stood up to direct colonization – one way in Asia, a different way in Africa, and another way in Latin America. The world’s political map underwent major changes those days. Major changes are taking place today as well. (October 14, 2022) The gradual, covert movement for Global Arrogance’s dominance is clearly, slowly losing its legitimacy amongst nations. It wasn’t legitimate from the beginning, but nations are coming to understand this matter. This will lead to a new state of affairs, and it will create a new world. We may not be able to guess very accurately what form this new world will take, but we are certain that a new world has been gradually forming over these years. (October 14, 2022) Today, the world is on the verge of witnessing a new order. In my opinion, the Ukraine war should be looked at more deeply. This is not merely a military attack on a country. The moves that we see in Europe today are deep-rooted moves and one can predict complex and difficult futures. (April 26, 2022) In the new world order, the United States will be isolated, contrary to what George Bush Sr. said over 20 years ago about the US being the only dominant power in the world. After Iraq attacked Kuwait and the US crushed the Iraqi attack, he [George Bush Sr.] arrogantly said something along the lines of this that the US is controlling everything in the world. In this new order that I’m talking about, the US will no longer occupy an important place and will be isolated. It’s on the path to becoming weaker economically and also politically both in terms of its global standing and in terms of its internal politics. It’s also becoming weaker in terms of internal social issues. All these factors are contributing to the US’s decline. The US no longer possesses the power it had 30 or 20 years ago, nor will it ever have such power again. And it won’t be able to have that [same power]. While the leaders of some countries may flatter it, the US is becoming more detested by nations with each passing day. One of the most important indicators of US power used to be the strong US economy, which they say is in decline.
