Leader of the Islamic Revolution's message of condolence following Admiral Tangsiri's martyrdom
Imam Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has issued a message following the martyrdom of Admiral Alireza Tangsiri. The full text of the Leader’s message is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
“And do not think of those who are slain on the path of Allah to be dead; rather, they are alive, being provided for near their Lord” (Quran 3:169).
The valiant, courageous commander of the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, has been adorned with the rank of martyrdom after years of devoted struggle. The martyrdom of this brave son of Tangestan [a county in Bushehr Province] – who was an Iranian soldier and a guardian of Islam – in the course of the epic Third Imposed War, is a great source of pride and honor for the valorous people of Bushehr, the youth of the southern regions, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic, and the Iranian nation who have always been protectors of Iran’s independence and its maritime borders, particularly the Persian Gulf. God willing, this will enable them to continue along the path of Iran’s maritime authority and resistance with even greater strength and firmness than before.
I offer my congratulations and condolences on the martyrdom of this courageous commander to his esteemed family, his comrades, and the commanders of the Navy and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. I pray Almighty God will raise this martyr to the highest ranks [in the Hereafter].
